Wake Boards
By offering a large range of materials and hardware, including resins, fiberglass, blanks, instructional DVD's and books, as well as "D.I.Y" kits - we can provide everything to help you build your own board.
These types of water-crafts are made with vacuum bagged epoxy systems. They need a little more attention than other forms of water-crafts, due to the materials used in their construction. Some standard repair costs are listed below. Quotes are only firm after the ding has been inspected.
Melbourne Board Repairs will not repair any SNAPPED water-skis, wake-boards or knee-boards. This is due to the immense pressure exerted on this equipment. It is unsafe to repair snapped "high performance" equipment, that is mainly used behind a power boat
Surf Boards
It is inevitable part of owning a surfboard that dings, dents, and delaminations happen. In and out of the water, there are many causes of surfboard damage. Over time these dings will take on water and weigh down your surfboard and ultimately hurt your boards performance. With our reasonable prices and quick service, it is a great idea to get your board repaired by experienced professionals.
DO NOT USE WAX FOR REPAIRS. Wax "gums up" the ding and creates excess mess for the repair. Duct tape is a temporary "fix" on small dings, however it does let water into your board, and essentially makes excess mess for the repair. Solarez and Quick Fix products, essentially are only a quick fix and will eventually deteriorate, flake and crack. It is best to get your board professionally repaired with professional repair techniques.
We offer a 30 day repair warranty. The repair starts on the date of the pick-up and ends on the 30th day after the pick-up. This warranty is subject to the area's repaired during normal use only. The repair warranty is applicable on all repairs unless verbally noted but is subject to Melbourne Board Repairs discretion. The repair will be redone if the warranty is exercised.
Please clean the area of the ding. This means scrubbing off sand, dirt wax, or any other sticky substances you have on the baord. Remove leashes and board bags. (Fin removal optional)
Boards get water-logged which increases the boards weight, and eventually delamination. At Melbourne Board Repairs we use light weight material, as well as strong glass - making the board the same lightness, while improving durability. Most repairs are done with the finest clear epoxy's on the market, insuring a quality ding repair.
Melbourne Board Repairs offers a rush repair service. We can accomodate you in your time of need. Leaving on a trip? Need your magic board fixed for a contest? We have a 2 day rush option for an additional charge. If you have an extremely urgent repair - next day service is usually possible. Call for details 0438 416 738
